Why not add a little protein punch to a childhood favorite treat? These Superfood Reese's Cups are an excellent reward to compliment your work-outs or when you need a little pick-me-up during the work day.
1 Cup Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter
1-2 Tablespoons Oriya Organics 100% Plant Protein
3-4 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
a dash of Cinnamon
4 1/2 Cups Dark Chocolate Chips
2 1/2 teaspoons Coconut Oil
Makes approximately 32.
Slowly melt the chocolate chips with the coconut oil stirring frequently until smooth. Line a mini-muffin tray with baking cups.
Drizzle melted chocolate into the bottom of each cup and freeze about 6-8 minutes until set.
Meanwhile, mix first 5 ingredients together, adding more maple syrups or more Oriya Organics 100% Plant Protein depending on if you need the mixture to be drier or wetter. Spoon a bit of this mixture into each baking cup once the chocolate is set.
Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter mixture and place back in the freezer for 10 minutes or until set.
Lastly, leave Superfood Reese's Cups out at room temperature until they are at the right consistency to bite into, about 30 minutes. Store at room temperature and enjoy!
